Quick Answer

What is the HK-WHQ Fascial Wound Closure Device?

The device grasps and passes suture during laparoscopic surgery to support closure of abdominal-wall incisions or puncture holes. One core mechanism is offered in three gauge families so distributors can select by gauge, length and distal-tip type.

14G Family

Standard diameter family

2.11 mm external diameter with 110, 130, 155 and 160 mm sharp and blunt references.

16G Family

100 mm configuration

1.60 mm external diameter with 100 mm sharp and blunt references.

17G Family

Smaller diameter family

1.51 mm external diameter with 110, 130, 155 and 160 mm sharp and blunt references.

Shared Design

Button-controlled claw

Needle body, internal needle, claw forceps, button, handle and spring form the common device architecture.

Selection Guide

Choose the correct model in three steps.

Start with gauge, then select needle length and distal-tip type. This is the fastest way for distributors and clinical teams to identify a suitable HK-WHQ reference.

1 · Gauge

14G, 16G or 17G

Choose the needle-diameter family required for the procedure and local product preference.

  • 14G OD: 2.11 mm
  • 16G OD: 1.60 mm
  • 17G OD: 1.51 mm
2 · Length

100–160 mm

Match the working length to the exact model reference.

  • 14G: 110 / 130 / 155 / 160 mm
  • 16G: 100 mm
  • 17G: 110 / 130 / 155 / 160 mm
3 · Distal Tip

Sharp or blunt

The model code identifies the documented tip configuration.

  • No B suffix: sharp
  • B suffix: blunt
  • Confirm exact model before order
Distributor shortcut: send us the gauge + required length + sharp/blunt preference + target country, and we can match the exact model and regulatory documents.

Device Mechanism

Button-controlled suture capture.

The product uses a needle body and internal needle linked to distal claw forceps. Pressing the button exposes the claw; releasing the button allows the spring mechanism to retract the claw and captured suture into the needle body.

Core sequence

The device punctures the abdominal-wall tissue, captures or releases suture with the distal claw, and supports passage of the suture through the closure path.

Puncture → expose claw → capture/release suture → retract
